 Call of Duty 7 has been named; the official site for Treyarch's latest take on Activision's phenomenal franchise has gone live, revealing the game's full title – Call of Duty: Black Ops. Following on from fresh reports that the game would be taking place in Vietnam and hours before it's to get its first teaser, Activision has pushed the button on Call of Duty: Black Ops' official site. There's little in the way of further information beyond a brief blog entry from the developer of Call of Duty: World at War.

 EA is allegedly set to sue over a South Park episode featuring Tiger Woods and his golf-club swinging missus. According to a "source", soon after the airing of the offending (and hilarious) episode this week (which you can see below) "the top beef were called in, even Peter Moore was informed of the situation."

 Electronic Arts has responded to recent reports of upcoming plans to introduce paid-for DLC previews of upcoming games, saying none of its future plans included charging gamers for traditionally free demos. Jeff Brown, VP of Corporate Communications, said the publisher was working on a "number of projects for delivering premium content to consumers before, during, and after the launch of a packaged-goods version of the game."

 This week at Game Developers Conference, OnLive announced that their cloud-based gaming platform would be arriving on June 17, 2010. The company first unveiled the service last year, sending waves through the industry with their promise of games streaming to any device, running at high-specs, with absolutely no lag. Speaking to an audience of developers and members of the press, the OnLive team talked more about how the system works, how developers can bring their games to the service, and their new software development kit. Since the service was first announced, OnLive has been working toward widespread implementation of the cloud system through continued development of a network of datacenters, which will serve as the foundations of the service. These datacenters will host the servers that will not only power the cloud network that support the system, but also an array of rack-mounted PCs that will run the games that are streamed to consumers. This system allows developers to add support for OnLive to any new or existing PC title, a process that OnLive says they were able to accomplish in just 3-weeks in one notable test case – Red Faction: Guerrilla.

 A persistent server outage that started late Friday night has started to frustrate many Battlefield: Bad Company 2 players through the weekend, causing many to disconnect from multiplayer games, or simply not connect at all. When a fix was thought to be in place, the servers took another hit, causing another outage that impacted all three versions.

 Test Drive Unlimited 2 is set on the island of Ibiza. The developers at Eden Studios used actual topographic information to design the environment and recreated a number of the island's towns in detail. All the road networks are designed to be as true to life as possible, so players will feel like they're really racing on Ibiza itself. The island has a full day/night cycle (and weather effects!) which spans approximately two hours, so players will be driving their cars of choice through rainy nights and brilliant sunsets.

 Activision has announced Sledgehammer Games, a newly formed studio led by former Visceral Games executives Glen A. Schofield and Michael Condrey, will develop a new Call of Duty title that will "extend the franchise into the action-adventure genre." The publisher also confirmed it will release another Call of Duty title in 2011, but it's unclear as of now if this is the same title Sledgehammer is currently developing. This leaves the door open for another studio, possibly Infinity Ward, to develop the 2011 title. We've asked Activision for clarification.

 Valve has begun testing new artificial intelligence bots able to replicate real-life player reactions on its multiplayer shooter Team Fortress 2. Writing on the Team Fortress 2 blog, Valve developer Mike Booth revealed that the computer-controlled enemies will be unleashed on the game's King Of The Hill maps.

 The PC beta for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has been delayed until 2010.

 EA global publishing president John Pleasants believes that the PC is fast becoming the world’s largest gaming platform. Speaking at the company's recent investor conference call, the EA exec pointed out that there are currently more than a billion PCs in use across the world, all capable of supporting downloadable flash software.

 Problems have been experienced by users trying to install the PC version of Fallout 3 expansion Broken Steel. The content will cause errors upon installation, saying that "the cryptographic message is not formatted correctly", according to Eurogamer.

 Developer DICE has explained why the PC version of Battlefield 1943 has been delayed. The first-person shooter will be released for Xbox 360 and PS3 in June, with a PC version not available until September. Producer Gordon Van Dyke attributed the delay to the fact that Battlefield 1943 is the first PC title to use DICE's Frostbite Engine, which was previously harnessed to to create the console exclusive Battlefield: Bad Company.

 One of the biggest mysteries in gaming currently surrounds Microsoft's upcoming motion camera, Project Natal. Not only has the company been secretive about the price of the device, but the final name and model design still haven't been confirmed. In April, pictures of test kits surfaced on the internet showing the device colored black. The photos also confirmed Natal would use an independently motorized tilt mechanism. Since then, Natal has appeared with a new white color scheme at recent media and consumer events.

 THQ is the latest publisher to join the fight against the sale of used games. The company confirmed PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions UFC Undisputed 2010 will require players to enter a one-time use code to access the game's multiplayer modes and features.

 Larry Hryb, Director of Programming for Microsoft's Xbox LIVE online gaming network, has had his Xbox LIVE profile hacked. Warning: NSFW language ahead. Known by his gamertag Major Nelson, Hryb was part of the Xbox 360 launch team and was one of the first game execs to have a regular podcast and blog.

 Details about Infinity Ward's upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 map pack, titled the Stimulus Package, have been posted on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace website. This download contains five maps in total, two of which appeared in the first Modern Warfare title. This pack will be available to download on Xbox LIVE starting on March 30. PS3 and PC owners will have to wait a bit longer. Activision has confirmed the pack will cost 1200 Microsoft points ($14.99).

 Speaking this morning at the Jefferies Annual Global Technology Conference in New York City, Mindy Mount, Microsoft's Chief Financial Officer of its Entertainment & Devices Division, talked briefly about Project Natal, Xbox 360's controller-less motion camera due out this fall. Mount said the company has put its best designers in charge of coming up with ideas for the platform.

 Lara Croft is returning for an all-new adventure, its voluptuous icon returning for Lara Croft and The Guardian of Light, a download-only title coming to unspecified platforms in 2010. No mention has been made of the Tomb Raider name in the official press release, suggesting this will be a departure from the mainline series.

 Sony's PlayStation Portable disc-based titles aren't going away anytime soon. During a session at the Game Developers Conference this past week, the company said it has no plans in abandoning the UMD format. The session was meant to inform independent developers about the marketplace advantages that exist on the PlayStation platform. When discussing the PSP, the company said its UMD format is "alive and well" and that all retail games will continue to be available on both a UMD disc and digitally on the PlayStation Network store.

 Rockstar Games has confirmed that the release date for Red Dead Redemption has slipped into May to allow more time for polish and fine-tuning. The developer said that the open-world game's planned late April launch date has now moved to May 21 in Europe for both Xbox 360 and PS3 versions.

 God Of War III director Stig Asmussen has revealed that the series-recurring sex scene was almost left out of the third game. The first two God Of War games featured a sex sequence in which players completed a quick-time mini-game as lead character Kratos engaged in a hidden clinch with two topless ladies.

 Sony has officially confirmed a number of its Q1 releases, including God Of War 3 and Heavy Rain. According to MCV, Sony has dated MMFPS MAG, with God Of War 3 and Heavy Rain to follow in the following months.

 Sony has announced that God Of War III: Ultimate Trilogy Edition will be released in Europe and other PAL territories in 2010. The bundle will include the upcoming God Of War III, remastered versions of the original and its sequel, bonus DLC content, an official soundtrack, and a book containing artwork from the game.

 Sony has announced that a playable demo for Gran Turismo 5 will be made available on December 17 as part of a time trial competition. Writing on the European PlayStation blog, Sony brand manager Penrose Tackie confirmed the return of the GT Academy for 2010.

"PSPgo has seen a slow start for ShopTo and we have kept stock quite tight in consideration.
