As part of Capcom's recent announcement explosion, it has been revealed that Lost Planet 2 will be collaborating with Microsoft to incorporate characters from Gears of War. The strange meeting of minds will see Marcus and Dom from the brawny shooter series appear as playable beefcakes in Capcom's alien-exploding sequel. Isn't that nice? As you know, a release date has also been revealed, with Lost Planet 2 scheduled to hit worldwide consoles on May 18. It'll release for both Xbox 360 and PS3, although it's fair to say that the PS3 version probably won't be welcoming Gears of War characters so wholeheartedly. Perhaps the PS3 will get its own unique characters, but nothing's been said so far. It has also been said that people who pre-order the game in the US get Wesker from RE5, so maybe he will be included as standard as well here in the UK.

The development of Star Wars Battlefront III has been rocky, to say the least. Work began at Free Radical before Crytek snapped up the company, then the game was rumored to be in Rebellion's care before it eventually dropped from the face of the earth. Meanwhile Pandemic, the recently shuttered studio behind the first two games, apparently had nothing to do with the title at all. The latest rumor, courtesy of Kotaku, puts development of a brand new Battlefront project, entitled Star Wars Battlefront: Online, in the hands of Slant Six Games and LucasArts. Slant Six is the studio behind several games in the SOCOM tactical-shooter series, making it a reasonable candidate for a Battlefront developer. The game will reportedly arrive in 2011 on PS3 and Xbox 360. It will focus on online play and, presumably, Star Wars. According to Kotaku, Star Wars Battlefront: Online is also the source of the Star Wars Battlefront III casting rumors

Quote: Datel Design & Development, a maker of memory units for Microsoft's Xbox 360, has filed an antitrust suit against Microsoft over its moves to prevent the U.K.-based company's products from working with the game console. The complaint, filed in U.S. District Court in San Francisco, says Microsoft is unfairly favoring its own Xbox 360 accessories by disabling the functionality of competing technologies.
Microsoft announced last month that a software update would block unauthorized memory units from working with the console. The move was ostensibly meant to crack down on cheating enabled by unauthorized memory units -- including a Datel unit that uses removable MicroSD cards -- but it also drew complaints from gamers over the price that Microsoft charges for its own memory units.

... Shocking Truths Uncovered? Quote: It seems like one of the chaps over at Neowin.net has uncovered a few juicy bits of information coming from http://xbox.sky.com in all the XML data that feeds the Sky Player. To me, that literally means nothing - after all, I'm no techie when it comes to this sort of stuff, but speaking to our coding expert Aleks (AKA Routine), it looks pretty legit.

How much is Project Natal going to cost? Microsoft's still working it out, but Robbie Bach says at the very green roundtable I'm sitting at that it'll follow a price curve "like anything else," meaning, in English, it'll start at a more expensive point and get cheaper as it goes on. In other words, Microsoft's thinking about it more as a 32X-type add-on versus some tack-on motion controller. So, I won't be surprised if it's $150, or even more, honestly.

Valve is hopeful it can find a way to make user-generated content from the PC version of Left 4 Dead 2 available to Xbox 360 users, the company told OXM UK. "One of the things I'd like to do is to allow these modules that are being released on PC to somehow integrate with Microsoft's system," Yasser Mailaka, a "team player" at the developer said. He's talking about custom campaigns made with L4D2's PC-only mod tools, which we're certain will be put to use straight away turning the game's zombies into all manner of famous people and copyrighted characters (ie: Shaun of the Dead). At least Valve won't have a proble-- hold on, what's this? "We'll have to filter them, we can't allow any copyrighted materials, so it's going to have to go through a process," Mailaka pointed out, dashing our dreams of escaping from not one, but hordes of shambling Andy Dicks.

Quote: Sales of the PSPgo have got off to a slow start, online retailer ShopTo has told GamesIndustry.biz, and the console's lack of physical software has meant consumer incentives in the form of bundles haven't been possible.
"PSPgo has seen a slow start for ShopTo and we have kept stock quite tight in consideration. We remained at the RRP for PSPgo so that we can achieve the maximum margin considering that there will be no further software sales for this format for us as an e-tailer," said the company's CEO Igor Cipolletta.
